To show people that watching football and drinking a Heineken go hand in hand, we created a global Twitter content format around Champions League matches. Every match day we took over Heineken's Twitter accound and published a realtime story about a football legend somewehere in the world getting ready to watch the game.
The concept of Champion The Match was sold to different markets across the globe. Every Champions League game we flew to a different country to create content with a local production team. All content was created, filmed and published in 48 hours. Below some of the pieces of content we filmed throughout the year with former Champions League winners.
We sculpted ice with Ruud Gullit and Olympian snowboarder Gian Simmens in Switzerland.
And mastered the art of Kungfu with Rio Ferdinand in an old warehouse.
We flew to Nigeria for a party with African football legend Gemini.
Helped Patrick Kluivert move into his new apartment in Amsterdam.
And we watched the game with Morientes and Seedorf in Rio de Janeiro.
